ARRL Sweepstakes Contest, CW - 2025

Call: K2AV
Class: SO Unlimited HP
QTH: NC
Operating Time (hrs): 19

 Band QSOs
------------
  160:
   80: 182
   40: 241
   20: 371
   15: 26
   10: 4
------------
Total: 824 Sections = 84 Total Score = 138,432

Rig: K4D + KPA1500
Antennas: Multiband Inverted V 40/20. Also15 (with tuner), Trident L over
FCP 160/80/40,

L/FCP functions as 80m EFHWL, the bend up 65'. Multiband V has apex at 55'.
So the station doesn't qualify for "Wires" overlay because all are higher
than 50'.

Lost 20m antenna Sunday late afternoon. Something related to rain. But it
did not affect 40m ?????? The 20m SWR went to 5:1 plus. But 40 SWR was
normal. All the usual trouble spots were used in common by both bands. Both
bands use the same coax, connectors & balun. ??????

Finished 20m transmitting via ATR30 on the 160m L/FCP. It wasn't actually
all that bad. Today, Monday, WX is very dry, and RF analyzer patterns are
normal. ??????

But overall did way better than expected. Never that much SS activity on
20m ever for me. Always 80/40 big bands in SS. But this time 20 was the
money band. Gotta figure out ?WHAT? went weird in the 40/20 before SSB
weekend. It might rain again.

What was the official name/analysis for those propagation conditions?
Weird.

But fun. Online scoreboard helps with BIC. Always gotta keep up with the
gang and maybe pass a few. Lotsa fun chasing N0YY.

73 and see ya in the SSB,
Guy, K2AV
