Comments:

Another great week at Harbour Rock, Turks & Caicos for returning team Wayne,
KU4V, Jim, K4QPL and Eric, NR4O with Mike,W9RE, here for the first time but
fitting in with the team, the station and the contest like the pro he is. We
were honored to have him with us and we all learned some new skills from him,
especially on rounding up mults that can make such a huge difference to the
final score. We were still behind our 2023 record score, but close enough to be
very proud of the team and the results.
The low bands were not very good this year with local static crashes making copy
extremely difficult, even from stations who could copy our low power station.
Station setup was basically unchanged from CQ WW. 40M was considerably below our
2023 total.
Everything performed as it should except for losing an hour of operating time in
the 0900 hour Saturday night when Jim offered the others much needed sleep by
taking the late shift single-handed and dozing off himself when activity dropped
to about zero. Good thing the radio wasn't on CQ-Repeat at the time!
Despite the ribbing, I think the crew was sharper on Sunday from the rest and
had some really impressive second day results.
Thanks to all for the Q's and helping us by moving to attempt needed mults and
being patient when noise made copy here very difficult.
73,
Jim, K4QPL
Wayne, KU4V
Eric, NR4O
Mike, W9RE
