Another fun time in the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands for our full
time, on site, no-remote team. A high noise floor on Friday night impacted
our low band Qs and mults that despite better conditions Saturday night we
were unable to fully compensate. High bands performed well with very good
participation from US states and Canadian provinces. After a minor software
glitch got us off to a slow start, Murphy stayed away and equipment and
antennas played nice.
Station:
2 x Elecraft K3's with attached SDR's for enhanced graphic display;
SteppIR 40-10M
Inverted V for second 40M antenna
A3S Tribander with rotator for second high band antenna
80M dipole
160M Inverted L with 80M EFHW switching over FCP
EA4TX 2x6 antenna switching and hardware interlock
N1MM+ networked software to position computers and 48" wall monitor
The station is a part of a vacation villa known as Harbour Rock (
www.harbourrockvilla.com) which provides comfortable accommodation for the
team. Also available for rental.

While we did not set any new records for this contest, we stayed
enthusiastic and tried to be on top of our game for the full 48 hours.
There was great coordination working informal shift and sleep hours to make
the most of the available time.

Thanks to the North American ham community for providing non-stop action,
for willingness to move bands to provide mults, and generally great
courtesy in the inevitable pileups. We look forward to the next contest
opportunity.

73,
Jim, K4QPL
Wayne, KU4V
Eric, NR4O
Daryl, WT3K
