late posting this but got the score in yesterday so I thought I would post
this today:) Did better with my "peanut whistle" signal than I thought I
would. 15 was good but noisy and 20 was good. It was dark by the time I
wanted to switch to 40 and didn't go out and add the coil to the antenna
,should have but nevertheless had fun. Moving in a couple weeks to a new
apartment and on the other side of the fence in the backyard are some
trees!!!!! Gives me great hope!!!!!! I might, with some very stealth work
at nite,be able to put up a wire. Man I would be in tall cotton if i can
!!!!! I really took for granted being able to change bands with a flick of
an antenna switch. With an efhw,if??????,I can choke out all rf coming back
down the feedline and not tripping every tap light in the complex.........
I will be one happy camper!!!! A Lot of "if's" in there but wish me
luck!!!! With any luck, that apartment will be the last one I'll be in. My
goal is for some at least semi-permanent living arrangement so that I will
be able to put up some antennas before the end of 25. 73 dave n4cwz
