Steve,
WELCOME! You'll find a warm welcome when you get down here - maybe
not from the weather but certainly from the folks who make up the PVRC-NC
chapter. And, no doubt, you'll find plenty of opportunities for contesting.
We have our own reflector (PVRC NC) which we'll get you on. We have
our chapter meetings on the first Thursday of each month. We do a hybrid
meeting, with members and visitors both in-person and also on Zoom. I know
that the days leading up to a move are usually pretty hectic. But if you
are free for our February meeting this Thursday, please do join us via
Zoom. I copied the invitation with the Zoom link at the end of this email.
My phone number is 703 801-7727. Please don't hesitate to call me if
there's anything we can do to help you as you migrate down our way. That
includes any questions you may have about the Raleigh area.
73... Bill K3WA

A not-so-gentle reminder.
PVRC-NC Invites you to a scheduled Hybrid Zoom meeting.
*What: *PVRC-NC Chapter Feb 2024 meeting
*When: *Feb 1, 2024 6:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada) – Early Birds
welcome at 5:30
*Where: *Hickory Tavern at 1156 Parkside Main St Cary, NC 27519 - or via
Zoom
*Why: *This is a big month for contesters – the heart of the 2024 winter
season. What better time is there for us to get together?
There's a plethora of fun contests in February. We have 5M contests
including the RTTY NAQP, CQ WPX RTTY, and the ARRL DX CW contests along
with other fun contests. There's a bunch of state QSO Parties in February,
not the least of which is ours – the NC QSO Party to end the month on
February 25. Lots to talk about and prepare for.
This month we have a special speaker planning to come to this meeting and
tell us about his recent expeditions. It's slightly off topic. We're all
contesters at heart. But many of us are also DXers. Some of us, like me,
have pretty short memories. But even I remember late last month when one
gent put both VU7A and then VU4N on the. He is Krish, W4VKU. Krish lives
here, in Cary, and has agreed to join our meeting and talk about this
highly successful DX-Pedition.
