A PVRC contest weekend

This weekend... has two important contests coming up for PVRC.  One is
scheduled for Saturday and is the NAQP RTTY contest.  This is the last of
the three winter NAQP contests and is a 5M contest.  Please remember that
it is a low power (100W) contest.  Anyone with a basic transceiver and a
dipole can be competitive.  If you haven't tried RTTY contesting before
give it a try.  The RTTY diddles may sound strange.  But listening to the
diddles while drinking the adult beverage in your hand is downright
hypnotic.

Put your butt in the chair Saturday afternoon.  Make some Qs.  Keep at it.
Help PVRC win the NAQP club competition this year.  And add to your 5M
point status.

Sunday has more contesting fun in store for you.  Rest up from the NAQP.
Sleep in.  Have a relaxing breakfast.  And at 10 AM turn on your radio for
the North Carolina QSO Party.  You thought that last week's ARRL DX contest
was fun.    What could be more radio fun than a State QSO party from a PVRC
state?  Phone and/or CW.  All bands.

And if you are here in NC, get on. Get in.  Be the fox and not the hound on
CW!
