It is really gratifying to see the emails on the PVRC reflector from
PVRCers excited about this weekend's CW NAQP. I'm one of them.
We all know that the NAQP series of contests is important to PVRC. Not
only are they fun to operate, they are the basis for a very active club
competition.
There are six NAQP events each year, three in the winter and three in the
summer - a CW, SSB, and RTTY contest each season. Those six contests form
a major part of our annual PVRC 5M program and our Olympics.
And, no surprise, PVRC has done very well in the NAQP annual competitions.
We want to keep that up. So far so good.
The summer 2023 NAQP RTTY session was last month. We're slightly ahead in
the Club competition so far. The next two are this month - August.
The CW NAQP this Saturday 5 August and the SSB NAQP on the 19th. The
competition is keen. We need to get on the air, make a lot of noise, and
keep our lead intact.
Are you willing to make that effort?
Please remember that the NAQP is a great leveling contest. If you have 100
watts and a dipole you can be competitive with anyone. So please, get on
the air, keep your butt in the chair, make sure you are sending your scores
to the on-line scoreboard and, again, bring home the bacon for PVRC!
And, while you are at it, please remember those double 5M points you'll
accrue.
