Hey all,
I wanted to pass along my thoughts on this topic that I sent Bill before yesterday’s meeting that I was unable to attend.
I am in favor of resuming an in person meeting for dinner like we were doing pre-pandemic. I doubt it is feasible to have a hybrid (in-person and Zoom call) meeting. Even in special video conference rooms when I was still working did these types of meetings work very well. I would opt for 2 separate meetings each month. Probably make the in-person meeting an informal event and have an ‘official’ meeting via Zoom. The Zoom meeting allows those that are more remote to participate more easily and regularly. That probably makes a bit more work for you as the chapter chair.
In a previous exchange I also suggested a restaurant in the Cary/Morrisville area called Hickory Tavern near the I-540/NC55 interchange. I have attended a flying club social meeting there a couple times this year. They have a back room that I think would work for us. It is a bit smaller than Manchesters. The food has been good and is typical American pub fare similar to Manchesters.
Hope this helps to get others to chime in.
