Comments:
Did not have much time to devote to the contest this weekend. Spent both
days out at the farm working on 'stuff' (some of it was radio related, so
there's that...). Missed most of Saturday afternoon start. Finished up on
80m Saturday night and then hit it again early Sunday morning before having
to leave the house. Got back late Sunday afternoon and hit 20m as fresh
meat - boy were the wolves hungary! Found a comfortable spot about 4:00 and
ran until the band died out. Popped down to 40m and found a couple of spots
and ran more. The score is 95%+ running. The last 10 meter stayed around
100 almost the whole time. May not be the biggest score, but it was a fun
~6 hrs of operating. I am amazed that the KPA500 stays pretty warm
(~60-64C) but in all the time I've had it, only once have I heard the fans
hit 'turbo' speed, even during a RTTY contest. Oh yeah, I guess I could
have done FT8 but I still haven't bothered to figure out the N1MM
interfacing. Maybe next year.
