[PVRCNC] PVRC Call History File

One of the things I like to do in contests, especially during the slow
times, is to give a shout out to other members of the club or clubs I
belong to during the contest QSO. The reality is that my memory isn’t what
it used to be. It probably never was that great. So, how do I memorize
the countless number of PVRC members, much less their names? Well, I don’t.

That’s where call history files in N1MM+ come into play. They show QSO
fill data for all known participants You can also use call history files
to identify club members as well as show the calls . A few PVRCers make an
extraordinary effort and create a mixed call history file by adding PVRC
members to existing call history files for some specific contests. That's
a lot of work and I, for one, sure appreciate their efforts.

There's another, less labor intensive, way to accomplish a similar goal.

One of the least known features in N1MM+ is that you can run more than one
call history file for any given contest. It is easy to do and takes longer
to explain “how to” than it takes to do it.

With help from Mike N4CF, I created a PVRC call history file. It is now
available to all PVRC members on my website along with a 'how to' tutorial.

You can use the PVRC call history file in conjunction with any other
contest’s call history file. N1MM+ will do the data fill and also display
the first name of each PVRC member and show “Go PVRC” for any member whose
call sign is in the entry window.

If you are interested, please go to my website, www.axelrods.org/N1MM.html
to download two files. The PVRC call history file is named
“PVRC_de_k3wa.txt. This tutorial is named “Using the PVRC call history
file.pdf”.

If you have any questions or problems, please don't hesitate to email me.
