Hi Rusty,
I think it greatly depends on your application. I think you like to operate portable or mobile. Elecraft is hard to beat for that. I think the availability of the K4 is an issue for now but there seems to be a lot of K3s on the used market at good prices.
If you want a nice spectrum display, the spectrum scope on the Flex 6000 series is pretty hard to beat. Digital modes are nice on the Flex as well.
