Hi Gang,

Several of you have already responded-great response so quickly. To reduce
the traffic on this reflector, please reply with preliminary information so
I can start a list and a spreadsheet. Once we can estimate how serious our
effort will be, planning will be much easier. Easy response. Just delete
the ones that DON'T apply and put in relevant comments...

Please let me know if you're:

Gung-ho! I'll be there

Likely/Probable

Maybe. (I need to see the food menu before I make up my mind.)

Interested and want to be on the list--but I probably won't make it unless I
first complete every job in the Honey-Do jar.

Primary interest(s):

CW

SSB

Digital

VHF

Looking over operator shoulders. I'm pretty good at drinking beer.

Other than operating, I'm interested in helping with:

Set up

Food prep

Take down and clean-up (Non-participation is not an option.)

Bonus points (Wayne, KU4V, has already volunteered to be coordinator on
this)

Other:

Radios. I'm not biased, but experience has shown that Elecraft K3's
generally have less phase noise and are less susceptible to inter-station
interference than many other fine radios. If past is prologue, at any given
time we may be lucky to even have two bands in play so preventing cross mode
QRM is also important. Standardization also makes networking and operator
rotation easier. If you are willing to bring a K3 please let me know how it
is equipped-filters, auto-tuner, etc.

Antennas: I no longer have an AB-577 or other portable towers/beams so
volunteer equipment is needed. Let me know what you can provide or loan,
even if you can't be there.

Power: We have a good generator and backup so should be good on that. Solar
power, hamster power or other non-mains options to get bonus points
welcomed.

Call sign: Last event was special event N4C. Does anyone know the procedure
for getting a special event call sign and will take responsibility for that.

Hopefully this will be an event to remember with broad participation. PLEASE
reply to be sure you get future emails about Field Day.

73,

Jim, K4QPL
