Thanks for sharing that, Tom, and congrats on creating the soccer star.
So you've done more than score points in all these years?

Folks can click on this picture from a party

(K4MA's place, I think) when my daughter Emily was a toddler in wife
Jenny's arms next to Will explaining something or other. Emily's
graduating from App State Saturday week (a pair of bachelors degrees,
starting on a masters in August). Some of you heard the story of how I
got to this new QTH in 2001 with plans to put up 130 feet of Rohn 45,
etc for an SO2R station much better than the one that got me some good
results on 15 meters (previous station finished the same year Jenny
insisted on moving: that's life). When K4QPL's digger discovered the
brain-dead shallow wiring the previous owner had run from the house it
was enough of a set back to create time to realize I had to make a
change, as my job at Sun was blotting out the actual sun and I only had
bandwidth for one of two choices: daughter or radio. So my contesting
tapered off to nothing with the A4S on a mast and some wires.

Next year some weird federal law mandates that the folks managing my
retirement start laying money on me whether I want it or not. If we're
above water with the school fees it may be time go back to building
another station. I confess the greater motive would be to create a
killer high performance LoRaWAN node
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LPWAN> while exploring fully open source
equivalents. But I have found myself window shopping the qth.com
classifieds lately, salivating from the FT-1000MP listings. :-)
