So, Tad, K3TD, comes over to operate M2 so spotting is available. We set up
the station exactly the same as CQWW SSB and Sweepstakes Phone. He's off to
the races and I have other commitments. He sends a text that he's getting
great reports. I come in to run the last laps about 0130Z. As I sit down it
hits me. OMG! This is the only multi contest that you can't run high power
and the KPA-500 has been happily giving out Q's all afternoon and evening!

Realizing we're now in checklog territory I turn off the amp and telnet and
set up a new log as K4QPL SOLP.

S&P a few on 160 using the inverted L and the "CLF" counterpoise
(ChainLinkFence) and then move to 80M with a few S&P and then a great "fresh
meat" run for a half hour or so. When that firecracker fizzled out I closed
up shop and called it a day. Disappointing, but we won't make that mistake
again!
