> Fellow PVRC members,
>
> On behalf of the Colonial Capital Chapter, I want to thank all of you who attended the two meetings that were held related to FROSTFEST 2017. The first meeting was called to order at Noon in the lobby of the FROSTFGEST building. Bill Conkling (NR4C) called the meeting to order and passed around a sign-up sheet for all to sign. Twenty-nine members attended and two guests made their first meeting. These two were:
>
> Steve N3PMF
> Bill WA4EUN
>
> This intent of this meeting was to gather as many members as we could and get an attendance record and to offer prospective new members a chance to get to a meeting. Thus the meeting was adjourned quickly so we could make our way to lunch.
>
> And, to lunch we went.
>
> The next meeting began at One O’clock at Roma’s Restaurante in Mechanicsville, VA, just five miles from FROSTFEST. We settled in for a nice lunch and Bill (NR4C) welcomed all to the meeting and turned things over to VP Ted (W3TB) who thanked all who came. And all stood up and introduced themselves so that we could put a face to the call.
>
> The NAQP Club Competition Cup was on display and a photo was taken of it at each table.
>
> Next, President Bud, (W3LL) said a few words and gave out some awards.
>
> Bob W3IDT for the 2015 September VHF contest Medium Category. ARRL Gavel.
> For perseverance in making it to the top of the W3SO mountain in all kinds of weather and for W3SO summary result write ups.
>
> Tucker McGuire W4FS – For Most Improved New Contester
> One of PVRC’s younger active contesters, Tucker has advanced his skills rapidly, putting up good scores, showing constant improvement, and even winning the Rookie overlay category for North America in the 2016 CQ WPX SSB contest.
>
> Nate Moreschi N4YDU – For Outstanding Service to Ham Radio Contesting by Being an ARRL Contest Awards Editor
> Everyone knows that Nate is a world class contester, a past WRTC competitor and the chairman of the NC – East Chapter of PVRC. But he also contributes to our sport by making the considerable commitment to serve as an editor for published ARRL contest results.
>
> And, Steve, (N3PMF) who attended the meeting at noon, was in attendance and was verily voted in as a member of PVRC.
>
> Ted tells me that there were 55 members seated at the tables so I got to test the attendance report for the most ever attendees at a meeting.
>
> The Second Annual Galactic Luncheon event was a great success and I am told that Ted has made tentative arrangements for next year already.
>
> Again,I thank all who came to these meetings and to FROSTFEST as it is the biggest event in the area. And it is almost the center of our circle so it like home. Aside from the deals and temptations of the show, it is a place to meet and catch up with friends and fellow amateurs.
>
> I look forward to seeing you all next year.
