This is the usual time I'd get on here to promote participation in NC QSO Party this Sunday.   My enthusiasm is subdued after news of W0UCE passing.  

For those that may not have known, Jack was heading up activation of a new bonus station, W1VOA, the Voice of America. 

When the prospect of NCQP having VOA as a bonus approached reality I remember thinking of one, and only one, natural leader of this sort of endeavor, W0UCE.  Being involved with this historical landmark was right up Jack's alley.  He did not hesitate a moment when I asked him to do it. 

The thought crossed my mind to cancel the whole thing in light of events.  I decided, however, Jack would surely have been against that.  So I've taken the job on myself.  Help has come out of the woodwork even at such short notice.  A true testimony to Jack's legacy.  

I'm proud to say, "VOA is QRV in NCQP!"

Jack was a CW man, we all know!  When you work W1VOA this Sunday on CW, give us an extra "dit dit" at the end of your exchange to let us know you are thinking about Jack.
