This ad appeared today in QTH.COM
A long time ago I had such an amp.   Straightforward, not an IC in 
sight.   The factory was very cooperative in helping.
(It was advertised as full legal limit.  However, it couldn't do 1500 W 
RTTY...  So I got rid of it)

*- QRO HF 2500 dx repair*
    is there anyone in the raleigh, nc area or within 150 miles that can
    repair above amp? amp was idling and loud pop and smoked from front
    right of amp in vicinity of hv p/s bd. suspect blew hv cap? can
    deliver to you. would appreciate any help as i'm 74 and hands not
    steady enough to disassemble enough to get to bad part. thanks. george
