Comments:
My first RTTY Roundup in 37 years of ham radio. Despite the bands just
being meh, I liked it.

New Year's Day I finally got one of those 'roundtoits' and installed a
remote antenna switch at the top of the tower. While I was hanging around,
I installed a 40m dipole (temporary until the delayed 40m beam gets
completed and installed) and dual slopers for 80/160m. Saturday evening I
discovered that 500W of RTTY to the new 40m dipole makes the (newish) fancy
touchscreen house thermostat go bonkers. (That's the non-technical term.
The technical term is ape$#!*). Fortunately, nothing that a flip of the
breaker doesn't fix, but it upsets the XYL. So I was relegated to the old,
low 40m dipole located away from the house. The 80m sloper doesn't seem to
cause any such issues, but its early yet. Called it an early night,
especially since 40m score was pretty low (see previous comments). Mistake
#1. Should have stayed up and milked 80m. Next year I'll know.

Got up early Sunday and started running. And running. And running. Wow.
Except for the previously noted absorption event around noon, Sunday was
berry, berry good. The last hour or so, 40m really kicked up the pace and I
had some the best rates of the contest.

I'm having an odd intermittent issue with N1MM+ on RTTY. It first appeared
during the 10m RTTY contest (my first with N1MM+). I suddenly find that the
soundcard isn't putting out any audio. The first time it happened, I
checked all the Windows sound stuff and it seemed to be ok. A re-boot of
N1MM+ 'fixes' the problem. I think I had this happen twice this weekend.
Not sure what is going on. Since its intermittent, I can't replicate it
except in the middle of a contest (usually during a run, of course).
Anybody else see anything like that?

73, Mike N4GU
