It was the LOW power. Lot of people really don't want to run SSB low power.
If someone's reason for getting on is strictly to maximize points for the
club for the time you have to contribute, you will get a lot more running
the amp.

I won't even bring up running SSB QRP, though I know those who have tried
it, notably W2CS who said "Never again" afterwards.
