W O W ! ! !

Shortly after getting a usable HF license I blundered my way through the
1995 IARU contest and made 152 QSOs in 23.9999 hours of shouting into an
IC735. I realized with that silly, "wires coupling into the down spouts"
experience that that was the form of amateur radio hobby I wanted to
pursue.

A year later I took part in ARRL field day at the USS North Carolina in
Wilmington and witnessed the incredible performance of a high school kid
"working them" as fast as he could move his key or operate his voice.
That was Nate.

The WRTC has seemed semi-magical since then, and the news that one of
our own is part of this is just amazing.

Congratulations, Nate. I'm going to be in England while you're
operating, and I'm pretty much done with this hobby, but if I can find
any means of coupling RF I'll try to work you!

Under the published guidelines, the Team Leader spot has been offered to the next qualifier in the selection region, Nathan Moreschi, N4YDU. Nathan has elected to retain Kam Sirageldin, N3KS, as the Team Mate for the NA4E team.
