[PVRCNC] Urgent - Need laptop with serial port or USB-serial adapter that actually works

Getting ready to head to YN2 land for ARRL CW. Found my trusty old Sony logging laptop has crashed. It had a real serial and parallel port which was perfect for N1MM Logger, CW and rig control.

My backup was to use USB-serial adapters with my other laptops (Windows XP and Windows 7/64 bit). After spending a frustrating day, I could not get either adapter to work with either laptop. Even the $50 "real deal" Elecraft adapter wouldn't work.

I'm now starting to get to panic mode as I'm leaving Tuesday (weather permitting). I need to buy/borrow a laptop that has a t least one DB9 type serial port (a parallel port would be lovely as well but I can make do with a serial) OR a USB adapter that will work with Win7/64.

Would appreciate any help/suggestions.
