Comments:
Had KL7WV here this week to (finally) install my 'new' tower with much
help from PVRCNC ground crew of W4KAZ, N4YDU, K4QPL, W0UCE and N3ND. Now
have a C3.1 (my homebrew version of a C3) at 80', so of course I had to
see
if this dog will hunt. As others have noted, 10m was dead (local N4YDU
moved me to 10 for my sole QSO, nothing else ever heard despite repeated
checks), 15m was mostly a pipeline to Bob in CA, but did manage some short
runs. 20m was great for me. With the new, higher beam I was King of 20m
for
periods of time. Got several unsolicited "Loud signal' reports. Could
easily run there. Went to 40 and surprised at how well my low dipole was
able to do (domestic contests for ya). It was crowded but in pretty good
shape. Spent the last of my time on 75m trying to run and S&Ping until my
fun meter pegged. It's been a long week between tower work and that thing
I
do 9-10 hrs/day to finance my ham radio habit. I do like the NAQPs for
many
of the reasons others have stated plus more.
