Hi gang,
 
Before I pursue online sell via Eham or Ebay, I wanted to see if any of you would want (or know someone who would want) a 1 KW mint condition Ameritron AL80B amp?   This amp belongs to Guy Tolbert W4STQ, and has only been used once to verify operation several years ago.   Guy is wanting to sell this amp to help fund a “partnership” with me on a new telescope purchase.  Yes, telescope!  We are looking to explore the higher end of the electromagnetic spectrum HI HI.    These sell new for ~ $ 1300 plus shipping, but Guy will make a good deal for local delivery (by me) for $ 995.
 
I have owned this same model amp since 2009, and I really love mine.   It works FB on standard 120 volt outlet, and uses the old workhorse (and readily available) single 3-500Z tube.  Please spread the word to anyone you might think of.
