Comments:

My plans for a full-time effort got hi-jacked by some kind of cold/flu that
had me down for days. I finally emerged Sunday morning and put some time in
front of the radio. I did some S&P to warm up and as a couple of breaks,
but mostly I tried to run. I don¹t know if it was the remnants of my
illness, but the bands on Sunday sounded a bit muddy. Plenty of strong EU
sigs on 15 and then 20, but packed and muddy.

I did get a couple of surprises answering my CQs, with a few HS stations and
my second-ever VU calling in. I spent the last hour running mostly W/VE I
figured that was more fun than scratching out 3-pt¹ers. None of the runs
were easy with the bands so crowded.

I got spotted twice, once by WX3B (thanks!). Both times I saw my rate jump
way up. I¹m going to be much better about spotting PVRC members in the
future it makes such a big difference.

I did most of my S&P the old-fashioned way, with the dial and my ears. I¹ve
gotten lazy with spots, and I need the practice quickly tuning for
un-spotted stations. But my on final S&P pass, I zipped down the spot
window getting the rate meter over 100. I guess that¹s why I do it so much!

73,
   Rob K4OV
