[PVRCNC] SO2R controllers

I am pretty "old school", but I use a Top Ten DX Doubler that I bought for $150 years ago. I use a MFJ 434 voice keyer for Phone. I use LPT port CW keying using a single transistor homebrew interface. This may be an issue if you only have USB ports available. WinKey would be a way of getting around that. I would probably do some type of computer sound card voice keying if a) I didn't use my shack computer for RTTY and some music applications, and b) I liked Phone contests more.
It's all cheap, very reliable and (with the addition of a few toroids) has no major RFI issues running two full power stations. I think both the Top Ten DXD and MFJ keyer are still current products even though they have been out for years.
The MicroHam has a good rep., but is pricey as you know. If you want to build something, K4QPL has a neat little SO2R box design that he puts in an Altoids tin that does SO2R functions. K1XM also has an Arduino design SO2R kit that you can find on the YCCC site.
My $.02...

I now have an FT1000MP MKV and a TS 940. What are people using for interfaces for SO2R?
Is the MicroHam Micro2R worth it? I am looking for cw keying as well as SSB. What are you using for voice keying? I have been doing some research but am a tad confused yet.
I need to get this station cranked up and any help and advise from you more experienced contesters.
THANKS!
Kent, K9EZ
