I finally got a weekend off to play on the radio, but with the N1LN multi-op
crew too sick to gather, I was left to go single-op. I spent more time
fixing up my station than on the air, fixing equipment inside and wires
outside. I got on for about 10 hours in the afternoons and at night.

Low bands were rough with some terrible thunderstorms, so I didn't even
bother with 80/160. WPX is cool being able to work both US and DX. When I
got tired of the zoo on 40, I went aboive 7.200 and ran US stations. I
still got several EU calls, too. I sure wish I had antennas pointing S and
NW for quick switching. And I wish I had some RX antennas working too.

I alternated taking it seriously and DXing/playing around. I had a couple
good runs on 15/20, including getting called by several JAs at 0530Z
Saturday night and by 2 BY stations Sunday evening. At times I felt loud
and at times I couldn't even get the attention of loud stations. It was
weird and I didn¹t really figure it out, but it was good to be back on the
air.

Thanks for the Q¹s, and I enjoyed working PVRC¹ers as always.

73,
  Rob, K4OV (ex-KA1ARB)
