Comments:
This fan of multi-op contesting had his weekend free up at the last minute,
so I went solo. This was actually my first serious solo DX contest effort.
It was lots of fun, but how do you guys do 48 hour solo contests?

I spent most of my time with my ³code practice² on CW. My thanks to all of
you for your patience! I did have a few runs on SSB, but there seemed to be
much more action at the bottom of the bands. It¹s still a lot of work for
me on CW, so I had to take frequent breaks. And I didn¹t have to brain
power to do much S&P for mults I actually find running is easier. The
too-loud-and-unadjustable CW monitor level on my TS-850S really doesn¹t help
much either.

My fun surprises were having 4-5 YB stations call me, and several ZL and
VK¹s on 40m. I checked 10m periodically on Saturday, but found very little.
I started with a huge goal for myself, and including dupes I beat it by one,
so I¹m quite pleased.

I also spent 10-15 hours the week before to get lots of broken wires back
up. I fixed (yet again!) my 40m wire beam, and put in all new raised
radials for my 80 and 160 verticals. I finished in the dark at 3:00Z on
Friday night! 90% of my 80/160 Q¹s were in the last 3-4 hours, when I was
glad I put in the work.

I had many PVRC QSOs, which I always enjoy. Thanks!

73,
   Rob K4OV
