After starting off as a half-hearted effort, I got moreexcited as the day went on. This was afun contest, kinda like a mini-SS, although I only put in a little over 4 hours. Too bad this does not occur a few weeksbefore the Nov SS, where you can try out new antennas and evaluate the Sunspotcycle conditions before the main events. The August NAQP’s are too far away from Nov.
Worked a lot of easy mults that are usually hard to findduring SS, go figure. Heard a new multcalling CQ in a quite area on 40 at 0000, and as I waited for his next CQ, itnever came. So, after about 30 secs, Ithought, what the heck…and called CQ. All of a sudden I felt like a rare DX station. An hour later, I had 67 new Q’s in thelog. I had to give up the frequency toeat dinner.
Interesting stat was the longest name – Christian, and theshortest – Al and Ed.
