[PVRCNC] WPX CW NR3X(@N1LN) M/2 HP

So that's where most of PVRCNC East was this weekend!!! Sounds like a party,
not a contest although a FB score. Sorry Murphy was there but fortunately he
stayed to the west and left me alone.

I had either not heard or forgotten you had commandeered Nate's club call
for WPX. Then Jack said hi so I assumed Nate was at his QTH. And I wondered
where everyone else was and why I hadn't heard NC4KW and all the other usual
suspects. I only realized when you ID'd when we ended up at the same place
when the contest ended. I think I heard KAZ working someone but our paths
didn't cross otherwise.

I had originally planned to be either at the beach or at Howie's but ended
up neither as had a schedule conflict and tied up until about 10 p.m. Friday
night. This QRP thing can be habit forming but it takes a totally different
mindset than worshipping the god of rate. It's more like DX'ing against
pileups and each QSO is a micro-contest. It's also hard to remember to take
a quick look at the S meter since a Q5 signal on my end is not the same 5000
miles away with the RF equivalent of a night light.

There were only a few alligators with loud mouths and no ears. The 4L's come
to mind. Descendants of Uncle Joe??

And I was pleased to learn K4QPL is not the worst cw callsign. How about
DR11BUGA???

73,

Jim
