Happy New Year!

A new near begins with a new month, and a new month begins with an NC 
East chapter meeting of PVRC.  Our meeting is Thursday January 6th, 
2011.  That is a bit more than 48 hours from the time I started punching 
the keyboard for this widespread and egregious spamification.

It happens the keyboard used is a new LARGE TEXT keyboard that is not 
fashionably black.  I had hopt this wuld emProve the kwality of my 
tieping, but alass, i'm not seein much impooofmint.  But at least I can 
see the dang letters on the keys now.  Entropic myopia is thus held at 
bay temporarily.  Touch typist I'm not, despite riding a keyboard since 
1979.

On yet another personal note, this one perhaps not quite so irrelevant. 
I would like to take a moment to thank those in the NC East chapter who 
bestowed upon me an unexpected, undeserved, and somewhat surprising gift 
over the holidays. You Know Who You Are, even if I am only certain of 
the chosen intermediary.  Thank you all. 2010 has been a real mixed bag 
of good, bad, and indifferent.  Although I question your collective good 
judgment, I am truly touched by the gesture.  You folks are a great big 
tick mark in my 2010 tally under the "good" heading.

In conclusion to today's tickler tirade, I look forward to seeing all 
who are able to attend Thursday nights meeting.  Bring forth tales of 
antennas lost, contest challenges conquered, and plans for future 
activity.  Although not a 5M contest, the NAQP's are great fun and fast 
approaching.  Great choices for us 100 watters, and a good time to 
experiment with QRP if you are so inclined.
