My suggestion for off times for SS Phone would be to go to ~0800z on Sunday morning, then take 3.5 hours off. This puts you back on the air at 1130z (I'd probably try 40m first, then 80m if 40 is slow - both if you are SO2R). When the rate just isn't cutting it, take your remaining 2.5 hours off in 30 minute increments. Usually the afternoon hours are the slowest due to pro football games on TV. The last 3-4 hours is usually better, with Sunday evening casual ops getting on 40m and 80m plus some last minute "fresh meat" contesters running high rates.

For the SS SSB running, when do you usually shut down Sunday morning, and at what time is it worthwhile to resume? Is 1100 too early to get back on (assuming shut down ~ 0800), and is 40 the band for that time or does 80 produce better? If you have gone deep (shutting down after 0800), was the rate worth it compared to Sunday afternoon? BWould you consider doing it again if rate continued at ???. 73, Dave K3ZJ
