Dear fellow PVRCNC/East
Its time to deinstall my tower and antennas at my former residence. There are mixed feelings associated with this in that these antennas were a culmination of 32 years in ham radio making progressive improvements. The good news is that I actually have permission to erect the tower on the property I am currently on. That's a rare opportunity I will be taking advantage of! Even a possibility for this fall in fact!
The dates:
I have submitted 3 dates for consideration to the lawyers. It will be one of these per my agreement.
March 13, April 3, or April 10. I tried to pick the most "contest void" weekend possible per the contest calender.
The location:
292 Jenkins Farm Road, Rocky Mount, NC
This is about 10 miles due south of Rocky Mount in SW Edgecome County
Find Hwy 43 on your map and it is just off that about halfway between Rocky Mount and Pinetops.
Other details:
I will be hiring a crane, and the idea will be simply lift off the antenna stack and lower it to the ground. Then next lower the 73' tower down in total. The work will mostly consist of ground labor dismantling everything and placing it on to a 5 ton trailer. No tramming, or gin-poling, or climbing will be required. Its simply a matter of getting it loaded up and getting out of Dodge. I will also be renting a Saws-All so rest assured, there will be no time consuming tinkering or fine tuning!
This is a rain or shine event. Only ice will postpone the date. The lawyers among us will attest the judge's order is inviolate. Any and all support I can get from PVRC would be greatly appreciated. More details will follow, but I just wanted to lay out the fleece hoping this long term information would help garner the most help I could get.
Please e-mail me off line if you have any questions or suggestions. Thanks!
