[PVRCNC] PVRC/NC East Chapter - Regular meeting 12/03/2009

The NC East chapter will hold its regular meeting for December on 
Thursday 12/3.  It will be at its regular time - 6:00pm until whenever. 
  It will be at the regular Leesville road Manchesters', unless they 
toss us to the curb again in favor of actual paying customers.

The WX should be good, the 807's are usually cold, and tall tales will 
be told.  Tails of "WoaH!" are optional.  'Masochist of the Year' Award 
will be issued to NX9T, for scaring the 600 QSO mark in SS SSB as QRP.

Congrats to the many of you who racked up SS scores significantly better 
than your 2008 efforts. It makes a great start to the contest season. 
With Sweeps and CQ WW in the rearview mirror, we have ARRL 160m and 10m 
contests rolling in soon.  January brings the ARRL RTTY RU, the CQ160m, 
and the ARRL VHF Sweeps, as well as the NAQP's for fun.

To my brethren fellow procrastinators:
   Please send in those Phoney SS logs(and all of the others) - it would 
be a shame to spend all of that B.I.C. time and lose out. The "last five 
minutes of the contest" are really those spent sending the e-mail with 
your log attached to the contest sponsor, and adding your score to the 
PVRC 5M totals.  Without those "last five minutes", you give up the 
chance to fully participate.  Don't cheat yourselves - it is part of the 
fun.

In lieu of chapter minutes, I'll direct you to the Fi-Ni Report for 
minutes of the last Lost Island DX Society meeting.
