[PVRCNC] Second Annual PVRC-East picnic

If you were at the last meeting of the PVRC-NC East, you heard that Laurie
and I volunteered to host the second annual summer picnic at our house.
After checking the calendar for holidays and contests, we determined that
Saturday, August 29th would be a good day.  All the NAQPs will be behind us
and we will be ahead of Labor Day by 1 week.  We really hope this day is
good for most of you.  And, we also hope the WX will cooperate.

Before we get into the actual picnic planning details, we wanted to try to
determine how many people would be attending.   After we get an approximate
count, we will then work on the menu, activities, etc.   As a view into a
few potential activities, everyone had a great time last year with TEAM
PICTIONARY so we might just try that again.  We also just purchased a FUN
electronic game that we played while at Holden Beach this summer.  It is a
great game for a large group and works well with teams.  The horseshoes are
also ready to be pitched at the dirt pits and hopefully they will ring the
occasional stake.  

Oh yes - if you are so inclined, the K3s will be available to play with.
You just might witness a well known CW OP don the Heil headset and operate
some SSB in the way he briefly appeared at the IARU contest.

This is not a members only picnic, so please bring along your husband, wife,
or significant other.  (NO PETS)  Also, as we are somewhat space limited, we
would appreciate you not bringing along the young kids.
