[PVRCNC] [PVRC] Revised 2009 Sweepstakes top ten single-op scores

I find all these statistics of at least some passing interest. I don't wish
to take anything away from the high scorers and appreciate their
contributions. Yes, I was also proud of my SOLP results here in NC. However,
Sweepstakes, as many already know, is one of those contests with limited
mults and limited qso opportunities for each station. The point spread
between a "good" effort and a "top" effort really isn't that much. At least
on cw, 75% of the total 24 hr points can be made in the first 10 hours.

IMHO, the real heroes in winning the gavel last year are the members who got
in there knowing they weren't going to be in the "Top 10" but plugged away
to make several hundred qso's for the club, often in a mode they weren't
really comfortable with. It was those logs that made the difference and put
us over the top. The last thing I want is to lose sight of that and
discourage the "real winners" from helping repeat our victory in 2009.

73,

Jim, K4QPL
