Comments:

I only planned to operate on the low bands. However, propagation on all
bands (except 10m) seemed very good so I stayed in the chair much longer
than expected.

A few highlights:

1) Although most of my operating was S&P, I logged 28% of my Qs while
running. Best hour was 80 Qs. Average rate while running was 68/hour.
That's a very good DX rate for me.
2) Worked 48 countries on 160m. I'm getting closer to my goal of DXCC on
160. I started 2009 with 52 DXCC entities worked. I added 15 new countries
in CQ WW 160, 8 new countries in ARRL DX CW, and 4 new countries in casual
operating so my current total is 79 DXCC entities worked.
3) Had my first "single station sweep" by working YN2DD on 6 bands. I
worked 13 other stations on 5 bands.
4) Worked 21 JA stations on 20m. That's a personal record for me.

I've been licensed since late 2004. My prior best score in this contest was
in 2007 (684 Qs / 240 mults / 491,760 points). I beat that score by a wide
margin.

A large percentage of my leisure time is spent building my station and
operating skills. I don't expect to win any major contests or even reach
the Top 10 box but the steady upward progression of my scores has been very
gratifying.

Thanks to all the PVRC members who have helped me along the way.

73, Barry K4CZ
