[PVRCNC] Sweeps "Attaboys" (and "Attagirls" too)

I am pretty new to contesting and still trying to find my bearings, but I am
having tons of fun. Maybe this has always been this way with PVRC and the
SS, but I thought a lot of my fun came from the pre-contest PVRC tips,
cheerleading and member encouragement. It was great fun to watch all these
e-mails fly by (really helps the work day go by). And as if that wasn't
enough fun, the post-contest "funny QSO" e-mail was great!

I enjoy being a part of PVRC and continue to look forward to each contest.

73 and Go PVRC!

Curiosity occasionally gets the best of me in equally curious ways.
Last night it was Sweeps record scores. So it is time for a bit of
in-house after action cheer leading.

It looks like 2008 is a unique year for members of our NC chapters in
terms of effort for this years' windmill tilting.

We have a few folks who not only improved their own recent efforts, but
may well have one-upped the record books for our NC section and Roanoke
division. The log checking may be critical, but the raw scores reported
show outstanding efforts worthy of recognition - record or not.

Congrats to N4AF, NX9T, KA1ARB and AA4NC!

If I missed anybody else breathing hard vacuum in the upper
stratosphere, let me know. I'm going to add the info to the pvrc/nc web
site soon.

I hope everyone else is as happy with their own individual efforts as I
am with my own. I see a lot of scores from NC with significant QSO and
point gains over 2007. Outstanding. Especially outstanding with
unfavorable propagation conditions.

For my own part, I bumped up my own personal best from the KazShack, and
managed to tread water with self induced Murphy on my back for Ess Ess
Bee. Sweet. I'm looking forward to seeing my own UBN/NIL report to see
if I was able to improve accuracy as well. (El Escribano Inexacto is
renowned for needing improvement, aina?)

Sweeps has quickly become one of my favorite contests. I hope y'all had
as much fun as I did.

The scores and record scores below.
