No this isn't a misprint.   It really is possible to connect a mike to 
the K3 -- despite all the problems most SSB only K3 owners seem to 
have.  There must hundreds of postings on the Elecraft reflector asking 
how to do so.

Missed CW weekend because of a trip to PA.

Yes, a SSB contest with the K3 is a lot more pleasant than other rigs.  
It still is inhumane.  Hence mostly chased spots.

Nice to hear calls like W4KFC, W3GRF.   Also W4MR and K4HA op'ing 
simultaneously.   Even heard K4QPL holding a freq on 20M SSB.  Was 
really glad to hear NT4D!  Was this all an illusion?

One experience was interesting.  On or near the 40M SSTV freq, I was 
doing some running.  No SSTV sigs were present.
A SSTV sig came on and tried for ten minutes to get me to leave-- first 
digital SSTV and then the older analog SSTV.   Ignored it and continued 
to work stations.  Then a guy called in saying: "Do you know how strong 
your sig is on 7.xxx.  Told him 7.xxx is 1.2KHz away.  Asked him how 
loud my sig was there and what filter he was using.  No response.  
Suspect he was the SSTV QRM'er trying to protect the "SSTV freq".
