Once again I'm disappointed when it's over. My favorite contest of the year.
Also disappointed not to get a sweep. I spent 15 mins trying to break the
pileup on VO1HP but seemed no closer then than at the beginning and he said
he was getting tired so hoped he'd come on the low bands later. Never heard
him again. I think that call sign means "Victory Only with 1 Horse Power.
Never heard NWT. Sometimes I get envious of assisted mode!
Otherwise had fun. My highest qso total in recent memory for low power cw
unassisted, despite one power supply collapsing. Had to make an unscheduled
pit stop to grab the mult radio PS and connect it to the run. After cooling
overnight it seemed to work OK on the second radio.
Boy, did the NCCC gang run in the troops with the "second transmitter"
loophole. More like a barn door than a loophole. Gave us more excitement at
the end but of course not the same results. I sure wish points had to be
earned in the same way most of the PVRC members earn them. Guess that's why
they call it the "Left Coast." (OK, I won't be a grouch tomorrow.)
73,
Jim, K4QPL
