Just in case anyone needs it, I ran across a quick summary of "how-to" 
apply for the extra certificates.

It worked fine for the two special event operations that I loaded to 
LOTW last week.

I don't know it is necessary, but for the special event calls, I entered 
the specific dates from the special event callsign application for the 
certificate application. (e.g., N4A was active july 27 to July 30th, so 
the certificate application was for 7/27 to 7/30)

Of the 2700 Q's for N4A and N4Q, about 800 resulted in QSL's.
