[PVRCNC] Saturday's PVRCNC Picnic

Thanks to Bruce N1LN and Laurie N1YXU for hosting our first PVRCNC
picnic in quite a few years. It had been way too long. It was an
outstanding event and I don't believe anyone left hungry! We had a great
time gawking at all of the new towers and antennas and putting the dual
K3s on the air for a few QSOs. When this many contesters get together
the competitive spirit comes out, so we all participated in a rousing
game of Pictionary. The final score (awaiting log checking and UBN
report) was Team 2 defeating Team 1 with a score of 19 to 18. Skimmer
was NOT allowed! An unofficial total of 22 people attended with
W4MY/motorcycle mobile taking the prize for the farthest traveled,
biking in from Oriental, N.C .  

 

W4KAZ (El Scribo Inexacto) was in attendance and can perhaps provide a
more colorful account of the festivities at a later date. There were
photos taken as well, so maybe they can be posted to the club web site.

 

Our gratitude again to Laurie and Bruce and all who assisted and brought
the great food.
