Update to Will's comments about Top Ten - 

I have purchased both Top Ten Band Decoder cables and DX Doubler cables for my K3s.   The DX Doubler cables worked fine and all connections are to the back of the K3, keeping the front totally free of any connections.  OUTSTANDING !!

The Band Decoder cables had a wiring error.   I am currently at work and don't have the details with me, but from memory TX inhibit was swapped with BD2 (I think).  Anyway, the problem was relatively easy to determine by making a simple truth table and comparing it to the BD0, 1, 2, 3 expectations from the K3.   Swap green / blue in one end of the cable - FIXED !!!

As for his upcoming research on solder fumes vs. tequila..... well, as my K3s are built I will await his findings.
