Hi Keith,

Ok, it's 'bout time to not put yourself down 'cause you're doing a lot of
things right and that is a very respectable score for a low power station
with no "gain" antennas. We all suffer "finger trouble" from time to time
and I figured if I waited a few seconds you'd be right back--and you were.

And in a contest where there are a lot of mults, and especially IARU where
there are all the HQ mults whose job is to run so everyone else can get
mults, it's a matter of doing what feels right at the time and that includes
a lot of S&P. Every one of those mults, yeah, like the word says, multiplies
yours score so although 1 point is better than 0, picking up a mult can be a
lot better than 1, 2 or 5. Of course you still need some good runs to have
something to multiply.

The other thing to remember is that for the most part, the DX contesters are
dam' good at copying weak signals through horrible line noise and qrm which
is standard fare in Europe. Running low power I'm always amazed at how well
these guys copy and will hang in there with you until they get it right or
you both agree it's hopeless. Don't hesitate to jump into a pileup for a
needed mult. Listen smart. Guile trumps strength!

Anyhow, great job and keep it up!

73,

Jim, K4QPL
