[PVRCNC] FT-2000 reviews

I was puzzled by the number of FT-2000's appearing for sale so quickly 
after it was introduced.

Natural question:  What's wrong with it?

Answer: quite a lot if you use it as other than a SWL radio.

Apparently, it has quite a few flaws that are fatal for contesters.  For 
example the 3 and 6 KHz roofing filters are in reality 7KHz wide and 
detuned to boot.  The AGC circuitry hangs up on the slightest impulse 
and blanks the rx.

It's rather disappointing that there is such a disconnect between the 
hype ("contesters radio") and reality.
