Jim et all:
As many of you know I have a strange work schedule
working in a manufacturing plant with a 24/7 schedule.
As [bad] luck would have it, I am scheduled to work
the entire SS weekends (both CW and SSB) :(
I've made lemonaid from lemons by taking vacation for
the CW weekend (yoo-hoo!) and teaming up with a new
General, Daniel, KI4QXS, who has agreed to man my
station for SS-SSB when I am at work so as to have a
"multi-one" going on for W4MY. I will strong arm
"Frieda" for one Q giving the effort a 50%+ PVRC
participation and throw the score PVRC way.
Just some creative thinking going on. While we are on
the subject, it has come up about the new Generals on
the air will be good for this year's SS (especially
SSB) I would encourage everyone to "reach out" and
invite/include them in our efforts. Contesting won't
be everybody's cup of tea, but there may be some new
blood in there somewhere.
Now I've got to get my butt out of this chair and put
up my 80M antenna. (why don't I ever have that
problem during the test? Hi!)
See everyone at Manchester's in Nov! 73 / Marty
