Given the uncertainty of the predicted "possibly/maybe" winter weather
forecast for tomorrow, I'm going to assume that the meeting is going to
be held as scheduled, until overruled by K4QPL. So, bundle up y'all! Mush!

But please - safety first.

Use your judgment. Newcomers will be awestruck at the traffic problems
a little actual snow and ice will generate here. Remember, reports of
roads in the Raleigh area actually being sanded and salted are probably
imaginary wishful thinking, meant by local automotive body shops named
"Jimmy-Joe's Fender" to lure out gullible Yanks. Snow plows? HA!

It's almost as much fun as Washington DC, albeit on a smaller scale.... :o

The PVRC-NC East chapter is scheduled to have its monthly meeting this
coming Thursday evening, Feb. 1st........ We Hope It Works Out.

If It Happens:
We meet at Manchester's Bar and Grill in North Raleigh. Manchesters Bar
and Grill is located at 9109 Leesville Road, Raleigh 27613.
Manchesters is in the Pinecrest Shopping Center which is 0.8 miles south
on Leesville from the Leesville Road exit of I-540.

We have lots of fun conversation every time we meet, so plan to come by
if you are able. Guests are always welcome too. The "official" meeting
time is 6:00 pm, but will actually be whenever K4QPL decides to cut
through the usual high level of QRM.

Jack, W0UCE has a backlog of paper contests, so this meeting will see
the first ever "dual mode" paper contests, with prizes for both "modes"
(i.e., one in pen, and one in pencil). Strict adherence to "cross mode"
entries will be adjudicated by the sponsor, W0UCE. Catcalls, brickbats,
and whining are sure to be ignored, per normal paper contest standards.

So, you pencil folks be nice to the pen folks, and vice versa. Entries
in Crayon will likely BE DISQUALIFIED..... :0

W4KAZ will bring Crayons for those determined to submit "checklogs".

If my memory serves, Kent, K9EZ will possibly be sharing some info on a
portable 50KW transmitter from his day job.

73,
Keith, W4KAZ
