Gentlemen,
a plea for help and/or advice from a fellow PVRC-er. I am currently a
resident of the suburban wastelands of Northern Virginia, a most ham
unfriendly area to live in, but am planning to relocate to the Raleigh
area this spring/summer.
My wife and I are looking for an abode that will meet her needs for
comfort, but more importantly, meet my needs for a ham friendly, or at
least tolerant, atmosphere and stay within a budget that will not
require me to start holding up banks in order to pay the mortgage.
We have been working with a real estate agent, but have come to the
conclusion that she is not experienced or organized enough to try and
meet our special needs. Thus, if any of you know of an agent who might
be able to cater the special needs of a contester, please send me
their name.
Secondly, if you have any suggestions of locations to look for
appropriate housing, I would appreciate any leads. My wife works in
Zebulon, and I will likely be working around Garner, so the area
between Rolesville around to Garner, especially around/along 64 seems
to be prime territory. My major desires are at least a 1 acre lot and
no HOA (restrictions I can live with, assuming they are appropriate).
Once relocated, I hope to be able to rebuild my station and once again
be able to contribute to the PVRC scores. Several years ago when I was
the coordinator for the SWVA PVRC chapter and we watched with envy as
you NC guys started cranking out a lot of great scores. It was an
inspiration to our small group in the mountains. Currently, I only get
to visit here on weekends, but once I've completed the move, I look
forward to meeting you all at the monthly meetings and being able to
contribute to the PVRC-NC efforts. Thanks.
73, Mike N4GU
