Thanks for the input, Guy. Missed you, but you picked a good night to be
away HI. Maybe we should discuss if a change of day would generally help our
attendance or cause other conflicts. This is the only time we've had a
problem with Manchester's and if it is unlikely to repeat we should be OK as
far as that is concerned.

Jim

One of the things that makes the crowding come up is that Thursday is the
end of the week where there are more customers, parties, etc.
Monday is so bad for restaurants that many close. Tuesday is only a little
better. Wednesday picks up nicely. Thursday is decent. Fri and Sat are the
killer max-out nights. Sunday is decent for most places, though the crowds
are earlier on Sunday.
One of the things we could do to improve our experience almost anywhere is
move to Tuesday evening. If I recall correctly, NCWest has theirs on Monday,
and pretty much own the tavern where they meet, and the owner is happy about
it. E.g. a Monday night with a decent number of customers.

Again, regrets to all for the unacceptable arrangements at Manchester's last
night. Having the very nice private room for our meetings always made up for
any other shortfalls. But last night, having to put up with the smoke and
the noise in the general bar area wasn't fun for anyone. I let the owner
know in no uncertain terms that although we had previously agreed if he had
a large private party we would yield the room (in exchange for getting it
free the rest of the year), the fact that we had no advance notice was the
major problem. David apologized to everyone and has promised it won't happen
again.
We do have some good nearby alternatives available on short notice and if
this happens again we'll be ready.

Jim, K4QPL
