[PVRCNC] FD 2006

I hope PVRCNC members are supporting the premier "Operating Event" of the
year, ARRL Field Day, this coming weekend.

Field Day is yes, a fun contest, but it's also an opportunity to introduce
contesting to new operators.

If there's a local club doing FD, even if you're not an active member, visit
them and unless they're totally misanthropic, they'll give you a chance to
show your skills.

I know part of the East chapter is heading out of town with the N4PY effort.
I can't take the time to travel so will be putting in pure operating time
with the CARS group on Poole Road in Knightdale as K4M. Others let us know
what you're doing. Anyone in Raleigh wanting to play would certainly be
welcome at K4M. If  you want more details, reply and I'll forward the map
etc. We especially need GOTA operators since there are bigger bonuses for
more qso's and operators. YL's and XYL's do especially well on phone.
