Bob - I have a Heathkit SA-1480 control box which was 24 VDC if that helps
any.  I modified it for 12 VDC to drive an old DX Engineering switch I'm
using on my beverages.
In any event, you should be able to compare positions 3 & 4 with the voltage
from a good position ( 1 or 2) to determine if the switch box is working.
>From there it's just a matter of working your way out to the relays.  Good
